Nuremburg Meccano Clock. Recreating my Childhood and Making Missing Parts,

Описание к видео Nuremburg Meccano Clock. Recreating my Childhood and Making Missing Parts,

My interest in engineering comes from my favorite childhood toy.
Each Christmas I would get an "A" set which would covert my existing set to the next one. I remember getting as far as set 7 and also getting set B gears one year.
I no longer have my original Meccano but last year i bought some bent and rusty parts off Ebay and restored them to new.

This Christmas I planned to build a model and recreate those fond memories. I chose the clock, plans were published in the April 1972 issue of Meccano Magazine, which I used to read .
I was missing part 24b, 6 hole b wheel, to build the clock but was able to make one.
It may be cheating but I also used my lathe and milling machine to make a jig to assemble the escapement wheel, something I would not have had as a boy and it's use may offend the Meccano purist.
I really enjoyed the build and can now appreciate how well engineered and thought out Meccano was.
Sadly modern children would rather sit in front of a computer screen.
