Is Ted Williams the greatest hitter of all time? ⚾️

Ted Williams played from 1939 to 1960 and had the highest batting average, most home runs and most RBI’s of any player in MLB during that period. He essentially had a career MLB triple crown.

The 19x allstar led the American League in runs 6x, HR and RBIs 4x, walks 8x And on-base percentage 12x!! - His .482 career on-base percentage is the best of all time.

So basically he was on base every other time up to the plate

in 1941, Williams hit .406 – becoming the last big leaguer to reach the .400 mark

He won the AL Triple Crown in 1942. then spent three years serving his country during World War II as a pilot instructor. He returned to the big leagues in 1946, helping Boston win the AL pennant and winning the league’s Most Valuable Player Award. In 1947, Williams again won the league’s Triple Crown.

And the crazy thing is - he the years he hit for the triple crown, he DIDNT WIM the AL MVP.

He hit .388 in his age-38 season in 1957 to lead the big leagues, then followed that up with another batting title in 1958 with a .328 mark.
In his final season, 1960, as a 41-year-old, he hit .316 with 29 home runs.

He finished his career with 2,654 hits, a .344 batting average, 521 home runs and 1,839 RBI.

He only struck out 709 compared to and insane 2.021 walks.
