Описание к видео Smoky Mountain Near Nuff - Fly Tying Appalachian/Great Smoky Mountain Trout Patterns

This Great Smoky Mountain fly pattern was listed in Roger Lowe's seminal book and has been a popular and effective fly in the region since the 1970s. Not to be confused with Dave Whitlock's "Near Nuff" series which is famous for his crawdad pattern, this is a generic mayfly or attractor fly pattern.

Hook: #12-18 dry fly
Thread: Black
Tail: Stripped grizzly quill
Body: Stripped grizzly qill
Wing: Mallard flank, wood duck color
Hackle: Brown and grizzly dry fly hackle

Savage Flies is a project with the mission of encouraging and teaching fly tying to as many people as possible. The channel is named after one of my western Maryland homewaters, the Savage River. I've been uploading at least three new videos a week (usually Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday).

Thanks for stopping by. Please let me know in the comments if you have any tips or tricks that could help me or anyone else watching.
