David de Gea surprises Old Trafford Street Reds project

Participants at the Old Trafford Street Reds project had a huge surprise recently when goalkeeper, David De Gea, joined in with their evening session.

Street Reds uses the power of football to offer young people the opportunity to pursue their interest in playing, leading and coaching the game at a variety of levels.

Manchester United Foundation works locally with partners, including local schools, councils, youth services, the police and housing organisations, to provide free Street Reds sessions for 48 weeks of the year. The sessions operate in the evenings when other services are not always available and when the need for constructive activity for young people is at its height. Manchester United Foundation uses the power of football to engage and inspire young people to build a better life for themselves and unite the communities in which they live. Dedicated staff deliver educational and community outreach programmes to help young people make positive choices in their lives.
