In this video, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is speaking at the valedictory function of a RSS training camp at Nagpur.
He said that the diversity is part of creation, and does not call for exclusion, and this fact was discovered by our ancestors. In India, a dharma - or right way of life - was propounded that sought to find the ultimate truth and share it with everyone else.
If we are a nation, that is not due to religion or language, but the way we practise dharma. This should be our aim, of all people with different faiths, eating habits, languages, etc., to learn how to live together. Other regions may have a theory of how to integrate diversity, but only India has practiced it for ages.
Indian religion, which is based on this spiritual thought and which is now called Hinduism, is all-inclusive and seeped in the thought that we must live for others and respect all faiths.
Mohan Bhagwat ji also states that though India never went to conquor other regions but it must protect itself. We must learn modern thoughts for progress, be powerful, but at the same time love all faiths and be united. We must eschew ego and accept all as ours. Power should not be used to create discord and to hurt others. Wisdom, wealth and power must be used for others' benefit. When we do not follow these morals, power can be destructive... [After this, he gave the example of Russia-Ukraine war: this has been taken out so as to reduce the size of the video.]
India needs to be prosperous and powerful. That is the need of the hour. But, Indians should not fight based on faiths, languages... this is the legacy we must cherish... this is what is today called Hindu dharma... Gyanvapi issue is going on. This is history, not created by today's Hindus or Muslims. At some time, places of worship were destroyed... such issues keep coming up, and these are not against Muslims. In fact, the ancestors of Muslims were Hindus at the time this happened.
We supported Ram Mandir, but it is not against any faith, and Hindus must also not show as anti-Muslims... Both should sit together and find a solution. If not, what the court says must be accepted.
He said, the RSS joined the Ram Janmabhumi movement, for whatever historical reason, but RSS is not going to have such movements any more. [at 14:25]
It is right that there are some symbolic places about which we have strong faith, like Gyanvapi, and Muslims have accepted a faith that came from outside but they are from the same ancestors.
[At 15:35] Mohan Bhagwat says, there is symbolic attachment of Hindus with Gyanvapi mosque, but why is there a need to search for a Shivling under every mosque.
We have the same legacy and ancestry. We all fought the struggle for freedom together. It must be understood by us, and them too. We may follow a particular faith but treat other faiths equal. There should not be a feeling of alienation based on faith, which should also be accepted by Hindus, who must accept Muslims as their brothers. Our culture calls for inclusion, seek everyone's progress. That leads to unity, as envisioned in our constitution. We must respect each other's sentiments, and not provoke the other. All are our own...
Hindus must be all-inclusive while being powerful. Not to fear anyone but also not threaten anyone. It needs power together with tolerance. The all-inclusiveness of our traditions must prevail... It does not accept extremism from either side, but there is a question-mark on the other (Muslim) side. At the same time, Hindus should restrain people in their community who seek to create disharmony.
Wisdom is in being discreet, tolerant and cautious about divisive forces, not only within the country but globally.
