Olympics 2024 will start on the 26th of July in Paris. Before that, controversies have begun to surface. A Russian man has been arrested on suspicion of plotting acts of "destabilisation" during the Paris Olympics. New Zealand reports Canada for flying drone over football training. And, a video circulates in which Hamas is allegedly threatening Israeli players. Hamas has denied the video.

However, More than 75 thousand troops will be on the ground to protect the games and athletes. Israel has separately appointed Shin Bet to protect its players. Amid protests against Israel’s war in Gaza, they are the most vulnerable ones. In the 1972 Munich Olympics, 11 Israeli athletes were killed by a Palestinian terrorist organisation, Black September.
The Olympics have also been at the centre of violence, political controversies and diplomatic clashes since its beginning. Paris Olympics is not alone.
