According to Shams the Sixers lack of interest in pursuing Paul George in recent days comes from the team’s desire to “be aggressive” in the marketplace heading into the draft — instead of waiting for George to hit free agency.

“The signal that they’re giving teams around the league is they are open for business … they feel like over the next week or so, they can be aggressive and if there’s an option that presents itself, they can move on and not have to wait on Paul George in free agency.”

I wouldn’t discount the Sixers’ interest in Paul George until his status is finalized with Los Angeles or elsewhere. George has been atop Philadelphia’s wish list for some time — should the Sixers get the chance to talk with George on June 30.
