Amidst the constant political turmoil and economic uncertainty gripping the country, there is an alarming rise in street crimes in Pakistan. Street crimes are having a dramatic and devastating effect on students. With safety becoming an increasingly pressing issue, robbery and assault have become a common occurrences on the streets of major cities such as Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.

From mobile snatchings to robberies to murder, citizens of both rural and urban cities are suffering from a surge of criminal violence that is consuming communities across Pakistan. The law enforcement authorities appear powerless in responding to the criminal upsurge, leaving citizens in constant fear as their grievances go unattended. Young students who are especially vulnerable to these attacks have seen their education, dreams and future hopes dashed with each alleyway mugging or attack on the way home from educational institutes.

This should be considered a gravely serious matter that is leading to the daily suffering of countless students, robbing them of their dreams and leaving them discouraged, desperate and helplessly exposed.

It is becoming clear that no one is safe from the rampant street crime that appears to be on an unstoppable rise; only urgent steps can limit its spread before it unveils a deadly situation for all citizens within Pakistani borders.
