The name is Basso, Ivan Basso, hailing from the provence of Varese and nicknamed The Smiling Assassin for his ability to inflict pain on his rivals with a grin. As a two time winner of the Giro d’Italia there’s little doubting this man’s talent on two wheels, but there’s a whole lot more to Ivan than just bike racing. Trying to contain the energy of his three young children is by no means an easy task. With such an active lifestyle it’s not hard to stay in shape but even in his latter years quality time on the bike is still of utmost importance and after the rigours of the day it’s time for a recovery drink, naturally Ivan takes it straight up shaken not stirred. And so his next mission begins from blueberries to bike racing, Grazie Ivan, ride safe and good luck in the future!
