WHAT IS BITMAP?

Bitmap is digital land on Bitcoin. Bitmap is a mirror of Bitcoin Blocks on the Blockchain.
Bitmap came into existence in June 2023 during what is called 'The BLOCKOUT' where a free mint began to 'claim' Bitmap Land by inscribing a text inscription using the Ordinals Protocol on Bitcoin.
Because Bitmap mirrors Bitcoin Blockchain, each Bitmap is one block on the blockchain. This is referred to in Bitmap Theory as a 'DISTRICT'.

Each transaction in a Bitcoin block is also mirrored in a Bitmap and are called 'PARCELS' .
It is these transactions / PARCELS that give each Bitmap a different and unique look and digital environment to build with. When you look at a 'BITMAP' you can see these 'PARCELS' , this visual interpretation of the Bitcoin Blockchain is based on the BITFEED.live visualisation. And has now become a standard way of visualising Bitmaps.

Bitmap as a VIRTUAL LAND means that the METAVERSE can be created in a DECENTRALISED way on BITCOIN itself. All the data that is inherent in the blockchain can be utilised to create digital worlds, virtual worlds, Metaverse cities, terrain, galaxies, anything.... by using BITCOIN data directly in BITMAP , BITMAP really is the BITCOIN blockchain in a 3D state.

Not only is Bitmap digital real estate on Bitcoin, it can also be used, especially by utilising the Parceling features, as a gallery to showcase Art or Assets without necessarily being a 3D world.
It can also be a way for collectors, followers, fans etc to join whitelists for airdrops or mints, and for the Bitmap owner to create tickets, club memberships, seats in a performance... anything you can think, you can find a way to use Bitmap and keep your projects activities and growth with provenance on chain forever for your community. Giving them a digital asset class with verifiable provenance to the Bitmap that will continue to exist in the future for as long as the Bitcoin Blockchain exists.

There are already several developers building out platforms for the BITMAP METAVERSE. And some of them are already available to explore in a 3Dimensional immersive manner.
Other BITMAP DEVELOPERS are creating gaming apps based on BITMAP. Like the shooter game by Foxxie.

The first 3D BITMAP Metaverse platform that was created is bitmapland.xyz from the Inscribed.space devs. On BitmapLand all you need to start building straight away is a BITMAP in your wallet. Connect the wallet to the platform and you can build out your Bitmap.
In the past year, there have been many events hosted on various Bitmaps on the bitmapland.xyz site. You don't need a Bitmap to explore the Bitmap worlds on bitmap land so anyone can go and check them out.

The creation of Bitmap opened up a bitmap economy, which by default, benefits BITCOIN MINERS because every transaction related to Bitmap is an onchain transaction and therefore, Bitcoin Miners earn Tx Fees from every inscription.
Bitmap 3D games and Metaverse worlds require Avatars to run around in. So the Avatar market was created, Now there are many Avatars you can buy or mint available on the brc420.io and magiceden websites. Most of these Avatars have been created by the Bitmap community. You can even create your own Avatar. All Avatars are fully ONCHAIN on bitcoin, inscribed forever on the Bitcoin ledger.

To get started in Bitmap you will need an Ordinals compatible wallet like Unisat or Xverse. Then you will need to add some BTC to the wallet and then you can go on an Ordinals marketplace like Magic Eden, find a Bitmap you like and buy it. Once it is in your wallet you can connect to Bitmap platforms and build on your Bitmap!

Bitoshi Blockamoto, the Anon inventor of Bitmap has created ATLAS. A fully ONCHAIN Bitmap Explorer it will show any reinscribed content and children of that Bitmap in order they were inscribed, with the latest one showing first.

There are more platforms being created for the BITMAP METAVERSE including Gladion on bitmap.gg by Boppleton which aims to be an onchain metaverse platform.
As well as the Nakamoto Matrix and Runescape which use Unreal Engine And even though not on chain, require a Bitmap in your wallet to connect and build.
