Betty Boop’s Cinderella is a mistreated young woman forced to serve her two vain and domineering stepsisters as they prepare for the prince’s ball. Left behind and lonely, she dreams of a better life until her fairy godmother appears and magically provides her with a gown, carriage, and glass slippers—on the condition she return by midnight. At the ball, a Cupid-inspired Prince Charming instantly falls in love with her, and they dance until the clock strikes twelve, forcing her sudden escape and leaving behind a slipper. The prince vows to marry the maiden who can wear it; after every other woman fails, Cinderella arrives and the shoe fits perfectly. She marries the prince, while the bickering stepsisters are comically knocked together as the tale ends.
