Boston Dynamics is a small American private company located in Waltham in Massachusetts in the United States that is known for its activities in the robotics to use military . Key achievements relate to robots PETMAN, BigDog and RHex and the human simulation system DI-Guy .

The company began as a spin-off from MIT where Marc Raibert, the current president and his colleagues began to develop robots that move and maneuver like animals . Their work sparked the creation of Boston Dynamics in 1992 .
