In this thrilling video, join me as I dive into snow logging with my Stihl MS 500i and the 1966 Tree Farmer C5 – the newest addition to our arsenal. Cutting down trees becomes an adventure as I harness the power of the MS 500i and witness the rumble of the 353 Detroit in action. Operating the log skidder for the first time on snow is a unique challenge, with controls that take some getting used to. While I'm no pro, the experience is a learning curve, especially with the most challenging aspects being backing up and turning. Front chains are on order, and plans are in motion for suitcase weights or a similar solution to enhance rear traction. These two accessible trees serve as excellent practice, providing valuable experience for the larger task at hand.
