Nearly eighteen thousand people were placed on local jobs between July 2022 to June this year.
This is according to Labour Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime who says the jobs, facilitated through the National Employment Authority, were strategically spread across counties, reflecting a concerted effort to address regional employment needs. Mwadime called for more collaboration between the government and private sector in adopting solutions to unemployment in the country. He spoke during the release of a report on registration of private employment agencies and protection of migrant workers in the country.
