Vaginal ring is similar to birth control pills. Hormones in the ring are oestrogen and progesterone. So this ring unless properly used one can get pregnant. The chances of pregnancy is about one in hundred woman when it is used for a year. This ring has to be worn for 3 weeks. Give a gap of 1 week and wear the second ring. So this ring worn a period of time can cause certain side effects like headache, breast pain, nausea. So these are all the symptoms which can mimic pregnancy. At times people can miss period when they are using the rings. So whenever you miss period consider pregnancy and get pregnancy tested. Pregnancy is more likely when you miss your period in two consecutive cycles. Also when the ring lies outside the vagina for more than 3 hours or when you wear the ring for more than 4 weeks the chances of pregnancy is more likely.
