In the bike fit I recently went through they recommended me to add 3mm in one of my cleats. I'm using Shimano SPD-SL pedals (http://bit.ly/ShimanoSPDPedalsUnboxing) on both my racing and my long distance bicycles. This is the official Shimano cleat spacer.

With these spacers you can add 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 mm between your cleat and your shoe.

The kit includes:
1x 1mm spacer
2x 2mm spacers
3x 10mm fixing bolts
3x 13.5mm fixing bolts
