Finally finished my first 50 seconds+ Text intro animation.

Camera pans into three different levels. the first two were mostly modeled in 3ds max. All textures are custom made except for the floor and the ceiling on the first level, but the walls on that level were painted.

I also painted all the text maps on the second level. My aim was simply to do a video sketch book, so that I can refer to it later on for ideas, as well as exercise some new techniques I am currently learning in After Effects. It is not meant as a demo reel.

The scale was done really big (the 3,2,1 tunnel was 5km long by 15 meters in diameter) as to test my CPU and find out what type of projects it can handle in the future.

Total more than 300 lights.

The final scene was a mixture done from a tutorial I followed on www.videocopilot.net, and personalized the rest as to shy away from a total copy of the tut a bit, but my thanks goes to Andrew.

Total animation took 14 straight days and 13 nights with a week break as I had to go to HongKong for Siggraph Asia.

More animations coming soon, now working on other tutorials so that I can better my skills and hopefully produce much better quality videos in the near future.
