EPITAPH V16 -Toru Nakajima-

MONOLITHIC BLOCKからの新作、中嶋徹によるハードアッセント、鳳来のEPITAPH V16を公開。美しい前傾壁に必要最小限の極小エッジを繋いで成り立つこの課題は、かつて小山田大氏によって初登され、V15とグレーディングされていた。それから長年様々な腕に覚えのあるクライマーによってトライされてきたが、そのあまりにもハードすぎる内容ゆえ、ただ一人村井隆一氏の再登を許すのみ。あろう事かその後キーホールドが欠け、再び難攻不落のプロジェクトと化してしまった。
誰一人トライされなくなったその課題に再び息を吹き込むべくノースフェイスアスリートの中嶋徹が全身全霊を掛け挑戦する。
ホールドが欠損しV15より確実にハードになっているこの課題に挑戦するだけでも価値がある事であるが、彼のこの挑戦の目的が、未だ再登のないフィンランドにある世界最難課題Burden of Dreams V17のシュミレーションであるのだから驚きである。
本作は彼のトライを詳細な素材とともに迫力のある映像に仕上げ、彼のハードな課題に対する向き合い方、そして2022年10月にフィンランドへの渡航を控えた彼の胸の内も伺うことができる。
もしかしたらこの映像を観ているその時、彼はまさにBurden of Dreamsに挑戦している時かもしれない。応援していただけたら幸いである。 

MONOLITHIC BLOCK’s new video EPITAPH V16 ascent by Toru Nakajima has been released. This beautiful over hanged wall has only minimal small edges and too hard to climb therefore it was suggested V15 by Day Koyamada. Some climbers are confident of their climbing had tried but it has only one repeated by Ryoichi Murai. And then key hold was broken, it became impregnable project again.
Toru Nakajima challenged this project which no one tried with his all strength.
You can see the value of what his challenge, but more surprising that he tried this project as a simulation of Burden of Dreams V17 the hardest bouldering problem in the world in Finland.
He will go Finland this October
