Clare Rewcastle Brown, investigative journalist and the founder of Sarawak Report, unearthed the 1MBD corruption scandal within the Malaysian government. At OFF in Taiwan, Rewcastle Brown said the scandal is emblematic of corruption that is present all over the world, and emphasized the importance of promoting free and transparent media relations in an effort to expose other state-funded exploitations like the kleptocracy witnessed in Malaysia.
