New Dongfeng eπ 008 2024 in-depth Walkaround

The eπ 008 is a sizable SUV, measuring 5,002 mm in length, 1,972 mm in width, and 1,732 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,025 mm. It features a 2+2+2 seating arrangement, offering ample space for passengers. Powered by a rear-mounted electric motor that generates 200 kW and 340 Nm of torque, it drives the rear wheels using an 82.28 kWh battery. With DC fast charging, the battery can be charged from 30 to 80% in just 28 minutes, giving the eπ 008 an impressive range of 636 km on a full charge, as measured by CLTC standards.

For those seeking a longer range, the eπ 008 is also available as an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). This variant retains the same motor but adds a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a smaller 34.32 kWh battery. The EREV model boasts a 51-liter fuel tank and can achieve a combined range of 1,300 km. It allows for 210 km of electric-only driving and requires 26 minutes to recharge from 30 to 80% using a DC fast charger.

The eπ 008 combines futuristic design elements with advanced technology. Externally, it features slim, three-element headlights, an illuminated upper grille, flush door handles, and 21-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Inside, luxury abounds with a two-spoke steering wheel, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, and premium seats offering heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Additionally, the SUV supports bi-directional charging, enabling vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-load, and vehicle-to-grid power transfers for both its EV and EREV versions.
