Atlantis Music Presents Latest Bengali Folk Video Song "Aailo Re Tinnath Thakur" Sung By Dohar.

Gaajan (গাজন) - The end of the Bengali year in the onset of the hot summer in the month of Chaitra brings with it the yearly tradition of Chadak. Deeply rooted in the primarily agricultural economy of Bengal, the festival dedicated to Shiva envisaged him less as a deity of destruction and more in the light of Pashupati- the humble farmer- who like any small farmer in Bengal subsists on agriculture and intoxication of ganja and bhaang. Thus- the celebration of his agricultural ritual is not a litany of prayers to Shiva- but a song-and dance celebration of his glory.

Aailo re Tinnath Thakur song was a traditional folk song collected by famous folk song researcher and collector Ananta Bhattacharjee (Uncle of Kalikaprasad). DOHAR's musical journey was started with this song in 1999.

চড়ক বা গাজন : চৈত্র মাস - বছরের শেষ। নতুন বছরে পা দেবার আগে পুরনো বছরকে বিদায় জানানোর পালা। এই সময়ের উৎসব চড়ক বা গাজন। এটি মূলত আদি দেবতা শিবের উৎসব। কৃষিজীবী বাঙালির উপাস্য দেবতা শিব এখানে কৃষক। তার খাদ্য গাঁজা আর ভাঙ। শিবের ভক্তরা এই সময়ে মন্ত্রতন্ত্র নয়, নেচে গেয়ে তাঁর চরণে প্রণাম নিবেদন করেন।

আইলো রে তিন্নাথ ঠাকুর গানটি একটি প্রচলিত লোকগান। বিখ্যাত লোকসঙ্গীত গবেষক ও সংগ্রাহক অনন্ত ভট্টাচার্যের (কালিকাপ্রসাদের কাকা) সংগ্রহ। এই দিয়েই ১৯৯৯ সালে দোহারের গান যাত্রার শুভ মহরত হয়।
