Edit: potential workaround that worked for me. Disable ALLM for your TV in Windows with the help of Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) (google it and look at a tutorial how to use it)

Upon installing the new firmware 531.18~531.41 You are now LOCKED into GAME mode after EVERY PC reboot.

The only way to escape and restore normal functionality is to enable HDR once you've logged into Windows. Now you can freely change picture mode to Graphics, Cinema, Custom, etc again. even after going back to SDR. And it remains functional even after turning the TV Off and On, or reset/reboot it. Changing back forth from another HDMI input or changing desktop resolution and refresh rates, HDR←→SDR still works as it should. The problem could have something to do with ALLM but even turning Game Mode Off in Windows makes no difference.

TV: 85X95K firmware is: v6.6474 EU
PC: Windows 11 over HDMI to Sony Bravia TV using HDMI signal format set to [Enhanced format] (notice that I'm not using VRR format).
