Hurricane Beryl was a powerful category 5 hurricane, which broke many records in the Atlantic Basin. Beryl peaked at 165 mph, 934 mb (266 kmh, 27.58 inHg) in the western Caribbean. Beryl devastated the island of Carriacou and greatly damaged surrounding islands. Beryl made a close pass to Jamaica, and then made landfall on the Yucatan Peninsula. Later it made landfall on the Texan coast.
Beryl is more than likely a multi-billion dollar disaster, causing possibly over 5 billion dollars in damage (USD), and it was a deadly storm. Beryl is one to go down in the history books for its intensity for the time of year.
