Local Officials Celebrate $25 Million Grant for Capital SouthEast Connector Infrastructure Project

On July 17th, 2024, our community celebrated a significant milestone as the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded a $25 million grant to the Capital SouthEast Connector project. This substantial funding marks a critical step forward in transforming Grant Line Road from a congested two-lane road into a modern, safer, and more efficient expressway designed to support the region’s growing transportation needs.

This grant will directly address chronic traffic congestion and safety concerns by expanding capacity, improving traffic flow, and reducing collision risks along this vital corridor that serves thousands of daily commuters in Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, and El Dorado Hills.
