Upanayana is the tenth of the sixteen rites in our Vedic Hinduism. Sanskar is an effortful ritual to remove congenital disorders (defects) and create a more healthy and flawless personality. Every person's life should be healthy, cultured, developed and thereby create a good, characterful, well-mannered personality. The main purpose behind these rites is to lay the foundation of a good social structure and thereby create a good and civilized, strong nation. Generally the period from 5th year to 8th year is considered suitable for Upanayana Sanskar. Because in the young mind, memory is formed by Samskara and remains forever. After this, the period of 12 to 16 years is for study. Therefore, the ritual of studying Shri Ganesha means Munj, Vratbandhan, Upanayan or Maunjibandhan!
