Annie G. Levy is a NYC based theatre maker and educator who works with mythology, historical turning points and scientific breakthroughs. Current projects include TREE ARMY: The CCC Project, The Higgs Boson Project and An Inconvenient Poop. Recent credits include City Center, Dixon Place, HERE, Theatre at the Tank, and The Green Building. Annie is a founding member of World Wide Lab, an international theater laboratory, in residency at the Irondale Center in Brooklyn (2012 & 2013) and Teatro Due in Rome (2014), and Syros Institute on the Greek Island of Syros (2015). Annie has received a FAIR assistantship at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, a residency at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center, and was a 2010 LMCC Uptown/Downtown Artist. She is a member of the Lincoln Center Theatre Directors Lab, an associate member of SDC and is the co-founder of the literary series SWEET! Actors Reading Writers. Annie has over 15 years of experience in the classroom, as a theatre teaching artist, teaching coach, professional development facilitator and a curriculum designer working with students from kindergarten though college, including special education (emotionally disturbed and autistic populations). She is strongly committed to working with students of all ages in formal and informal education settings, creating classroom experiences that can be accessible to students at different levels of comfort and proficiency in sharing their voices through the medium of theater. She earned her BA at Columbia University and her MFA at Sarah Lawrence College. She is currently pursuing a second masters in cognitive studies in education at Teachers College, Columbia, University. At TC, her research focuses on the integration of theatre and STEM subjects with college aged populations.
