Winter skincare routine for acne prone skin.

If you have acne prone skin or acne in winter it’s a real catch-22.
Because you cannot apply moisturiser which will clog your pores and if you don’t moisturise the skin gets dry.

First of all, avoid using soaps and facewashes and serums which contains salicylic acid or glycolic acid.
⁃ These will dry your skin further opt for gentle facewashes something which does not foam or lather like a Cetaphil / CeraVe / Sebamed Olive.
⁃ Follow it up with a moisturiser. Apply a gel based moisturiser such as sebamed care gel or you would even use a ceramide based moisturiser such as the Aquasoft / CeraVe AM moisturising lotion.
⁃ These will not clog the pores they are not comedogenic follow it up with a water based sunscreen such as isdin fotoprotector or a gel based sunscreen such as la shield lite.

🛌 At bed time

⁃ Again cleanse your face with a very gentle cleanser.
⁃ Use anti acne cream your dermatologist has prescribed.
⁃ Top it up with a moisturiser.
⁃ The serums that you can use in winter if you have acne prone skin hyaluronic based serums or niacinamide based serums.

⚠️ Avoid other actives without a dermatologist recommendation.
