MSC Virtuosa Norwegian Fjords Cruise Kristiansand

Join us as we explore Kristiansand which is the fifth largest city in Norway, lying on the southern tip of this extraordinary Scandinavian country. At the pier there is a tourist trolley train that offers tours through the city centre of Kristiansand and that doubles as a shuttle service.

However, from the cruise port, it is only about 1 km walk to get to the city centre, so we grabbed a map and set off to explore. Join us as we walk through Fiskebrygga, the city`s scenic fishing wharf, before walking around the bay that takes us through some lovely park areas with fountains and flower beds and we were able to admire the boats out in the marina and the big wheel that takes visitors high into the sky for amazing views.

We also stop at a quiet beach with some great views out to sea before then Strolling through the old town of Posebyen, known for its neat grid design with wooden white and pastel-coloured houses and then make our way into the centre, stopping to admire the Cathedral on the way. The main shopping areas are Markensgate, the pedestrianised high street, and Skippergata where locals and visitors alike mingle, take in the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the selection of restaurants and bars. Kristiansand is a very walkable city!
