I HAVE MADE THESE COOKIES A 1000 WAYS!

I've used this recipe to make my shaped sugar cookies that I then decorate with royal icing. I've also made it into normal round sugar cookies, added funfetti, added chocolate chips, coconut, nuts, you name it we've tried it with this recipe. And that's why I LOVE this recipe because it is so versatile and I always get compliments on them!

Ingredients:

2 3/4 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ baking powder

1 cup butter, softened

1½ cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla essence



Instructions:

Preheat oven to 180°C degrees.

In a small bowl sift  together flour, baking soda & baking powder - set aside.

In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat egg and vanilla and add into butter mixture. Gradually add dry ingredients. Roll rounded teaspoonful of dough into balls and place onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet to cool before moving to wire racks.
