J.P. Sauer & Sohn Maschinenbau GmbH in the northern German city of Kiel can look back on almost 140 years of history. Founded as a brass foundry and initially active as a supplier to the local maritime industry, the company has focussed exclusively on the development and manufacture of high-pressure compressors since 1930. Over the decades, the medium-sized manufacturer has grown into the globally active Sauer Compressors group of companies. Today, Sauer Compressors is the world market and technology leader for high pressure compressors for air and other gases in many fields. The site in Kiel is the global company headquarters, development and production site and the centre of excellence for the SAUER compressor brand. Furthermore, a large part of the global sales and service network is managed from here.
