Weather experts have warned of heavy rain expected in some parts of the country as the first rain season starts this month. Officials of the Uganda National Meteorological Authority say that while the country is expected to experience near-average to suppressed rainfall over several parts, some areas in the southern sector are expected to receive near-normal to enhanced rainfall. They are warning of potential disasters including floods and landslides.
