Big controversy ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 in India! Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal has accused Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of influencing Bangladesh’s decision to boycott the tournament.
According to reports, Bangladesh refused to travel to India citing security concerns and demanded their matches be shifted to a neutral venue like Sri Lanka. However, the ICC rejected the request, stating that it is impossible to change venues as the tournament is set to begin on February 7.
Madan Lal claimed that Pakistan is instigating Bangladesh behind the scenes to put pressure on India. Reports also suggest that Pakistan supported Bangladesh during the ICC voting process, where 14 nations voted against Bangladesh’s proposal.
Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif even suggested that Pakistan should boycott the World Cup in support of Bangladesh, though he admitted it could lead to ICC sanctions.
Despite ICC warnings of possible expulsion and replacement by Scotland, Bangladesh remains firm and says it will not play in India.
