Once, there existed an approximately 50m great hill near Kampung Dollah. (The village of Dollah has since been replaced by development activities; Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah and Jalan Barat are located in its previous site).

The highlands on this steep hill make it a perfect place for observing the night sky brimming with shining stars. During nights, locals frequented the 50m high promontory which they named "Hill for seeing Stars." This name eventually got abbreviated to "Bukit Bintang," a term which is in use up to now.

But, what used to be visible from Bukit Bintang two decades ago is no longer visible now owing to competing light sources in our towns.

This video was taken at around 2:00AM on Changkat Bukit Bintang road.
