TOC presents Lunchtime Concerts every FIRST and THIRD Wednesday of the month. Our gift to the community for over 56 years, join us in person or on our Youtube Channel.

Ellis/Bergman Duo
Linda Bergman, flute
Martin Ellis, organ

The Ellis/Bergman Duo was formed in 2017 by flutist Linda Bergman and organist/pianist Martin Ellis. From the onset, our central goal has been to feature music from the broader classical repertoire for flute and organ/piano, and to expand our repertoire to feature new music written for both instruments together and especially that by living composers both nationally and internationally.

Although there is a large body of work written for flute and piano from nearly all musical genres, the music for pipe organ and flute is relatively limited to music written specifically for church service use. To help contribute to the repertoire, our duo has commissioned Joshua Fit the Battle by Chicago-based composer Marianne Kim, and ...Earthsong… for flute and organ by Cincinnati composer and organist Brenda Portman.

We are excited for this concert to premiere Elegy and Dance by Martin Ellis written for the Ellis/Bergan Duo in the spring of 2024 as part of his Martin Ellis Music on-line publishing series. The Ellis/Bergman Duo, based in Portland, Oregon performs regularly in the Portland/Vancouver region and as part of numerous ensemble and church events in the area.
