TEACHER DEMO. This song is on p. 8 of Alfred's Adult Greatest Hits Level 1. It was composed by Paul Williams and Kenneth L. Ascher. Originally, Kermit the Frog sang it in the Muppet Movie in 1979, but it has been recorded by many musical artists since then and transcended the category of children's music. To name a few who have recorded this song: Sarah Mclachlan, Willie Nelson, The Carpenters, Judy Collins, Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani, and Jim Brickman. I'm partial to the Kenny Loggins recording of it.

This piano arrangement is by Dennis Alexander. You can play the eighth notes in a long/short rhythm to more closely resemble Kermit the Frog's rendition of it. I've heard it played and sung with even eighths or long/short. Try it both ways and see what your preference is. I like it both ways and I had a difficult time deciding which way to record it.
