German President Steinmeier Meets President Tinubu In Abuja

The German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has visited Nigeria as part of his four-day visit to Africa, and he will also travel to South Africa, and Lesotho.
He was received by President Bola Tinubu at the forecourt of the presidential villa to a guard of honour and also treated to the traditional gun salute exclusively reserved for visiting presidents and heads of government.
President Steinmeier had earlier met with the Economic Community of West African States President Omar Touray, describing Nigeria and South Africa as two of the most important economic players on the African continent.
The itinerary also includes a visit to Lagos, where Mr Steinmeier will interact with business leaders, visit a start-up hub, and engage with prominent figures from Nigeria’s cultural and civil society sectors, including Dr. Nike Okundaye and Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka.
