Cajun Style Fiddle Tune - Old Trevor

Notation and further video links are provided at the end of this description:

I composed this tune a few years ago in honour of an elderly gentleman and great fiddle player called Trevor. It reminds me of his antics in music sessions where he would frequently lose his balance as the evening wore on and his consumption of whiskeys increased, mysteriously never spilling a drop.
He was a really lively character to know.

There is a quirky bowing style required to play the tune and it is this that reminds me of the way Trev would keep stopping and starting as he made his way from the bar.

I borrowed a Cajun triangle from a friend and sampled the rhythmical accompaniment that you hear from about the middle of the track onwards. You might notice that I looped the sample from a few bars of my playing.

I am wearing earphones so I could monitor the click track, which in this instance was the sound of the triangle. This is much pleasanter than using a mechanical click.
