Subtrochanteric fractures are fractures that occur just below the femoral neck, in the area between the femoral neck and the shaft of the femur. The major complications after their fixation (non-union, malunion, delayed union and implant failures) are related to inaccurate fixation during the primary surgery. The current video provides insights into some critical issues which need to be taken care of during the fixation of these fractures.
