Strawberry Gap is a trail in the Upper Hickory Nut Gorge trail network from Conserving Carolina and Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. This trail is located near Lake Lure & Chimney Rock North Carolina.

Strawberry Gap Trail climbs for three miles and gains 1,200 feet in elevation. About halfway up you will reach Ferguson Peak, a rock outcrop with beautiful views. After three miles, you will reach the grassy bald summit of Blue Ridge Pastures at 3,760 feet elevation.

The Strawberry Gap Trail connects to Trombatore Trail at Blue Ridge Pastures. You could make a long hike with a shuttle starting at Strawberry Gap and hiking to Trombatore Trail, Bearwallow Mountain and Wildcat Rock Trail. These trails are all part of the Upper Hickory Nut Gorge trail network.

To get to Blue Ridge Pastures you can hike either the Strawberry Gap Trail or the Trombatore Trail. Although I enjoyed the Strawberry Gap Trail and the views from Ferguson Peak, I think I like the Trombatore Trail better.

Strawberry Gap passes through privately owned land and dogs are not allowed on this trail.

Length: 6 miles out-and-back.
