And this is making many young girls question whether we are enough…Lucy believes that we should “look upon the heart” of a person instead of through the “lens of labels” that the world espouses. This has fueled her desire to educate young women to fight the battle of being defined by societal standards that are so easily forced upon them through social media. #tedxstgeorge #tedxtalk Lucy Ann Higgins is a 16-year-old high school student living in St. George, Utah. Since she was two, Lucy has been in and out of hospitals, and spent countless hours with physicians working to diagnose and understand her health challenges. Through this experience, Lucy has become passionate about helping people. Lucy believes that we should “look upon the heart” of a person instead of through the “lens of labels” that the world espouses.

This has fueled her desire to educate young-women to fight the battle of being defined by societal standards that are so easily forced upon them through social media.
