David Bowie: 60 Second Bio

David Bowie, born David Robert Jones on 8th January 1947 in London, was an English singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, painter, and actor. He is regarded as one of the most influential rock and pop musicians of the 20th century. His creative output spanned over five decades and he received lots of critical acclaim, particularly for his innovative work during the 1970s.
Bowie's career was marked by reinvention, and his ability to change musical genres and styles was a trademark throughout. He pushed boundaries with his androgynous style and is best known for his characters Ziggy Stardust and the Thin White Duke. He was a big influence on the New Wave and New Romantic music eras of the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was also a talented actor, appearing in films like "The Man Who Fell to Earth" and "Labyrinth."
David Bowie died on 10th January 2016 in New York, two days after he had released his final album "Blackstar". His catalogue of influential music will continue to inspire generations of musicians and fans worldwide.
