Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Copy Pivot Table for Each Customer.

Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this episode, we will be discussing how to copy a pivot table for each customer. This is a common problem faced by many Excel users, and we will show you a simple solution to save you time and effort.

First, we start with a massive amount of data. How are we going to analyze it? Let's fire up a pivot table and see how we can solve this problem. But before we dive into the solution, I want to give a shout out to Ailly Ailly, who is probably the youngest MrExcel podcast viewer. Now, let's get back to our topic. Today's question comes from Patricia, who is trying to use pivot tables to analyze survey data. Her data is organized with a unique ID for each survey, the question, and the corresponding answer. We will first build a pivot table to see the various answers for each question. Then, we will address Patricia's question on how to replicate this pivot table for each question without having to recreate it every time.

To start, we click "OK" and arrange the answers on the side. Then, we double click on the ID field and change the value field settings to "Count" to see how many times each answer appears. Next, we move the question to the report filter and change the count of ID to show as a percentage of the total. This gives us a clear view of how the answers are distributed. We can also choose a specific question to see how it was answered.

Now, here's where Patricia's question comes in. She wants to replicate this pivot table for each question without having to recreate it every time. This is where the "Show Report Filter Pages" feature comes in handy. In Excel 2007, you can find this feature under the "Options" tab. For Excel 2003 users, it is located in the pivot table toolbar under "Show Pages". Simply choose the field you want to use for the pages, and Excel will automatically create a separate worksheet for each question. This is a great way to save time and effort when dealing with large amounts of data.
