The purpose of the unique Pető method is to provide assistance to children and young adults with motor disabilities originating from the damage to the central nervous system.

The András Pető Faculty (PAK) of Semmelweis University as the sole holder of András Pető’s legacy is the international knowledge and resource centre of conductive education for the whole world. The Faculty is continuously working on developing its education programs in Hungarian and English and cooperations with other higher education institutions. It provides modern, practice-oriented training for trainers, and also implements adult education programs in the spirit of integrity and completeness, both nationally and internationally.

The aim of the Faculty’s bachelor’s degree is to train professionals with modern general and conductive pedagogical knowledge. The training prepares the conductor for the holistic development of the personality of a disabled person of any age. Theory and practice are inseparably integrated. The practice areas include conductive pedagogy and rehabilitation, pre-school education, school teaching and learning, professional service and professional service activities.
