Описание к видео Trains at Strasbourg (Ville) | 18th March 2024

The first video from my first trip of 2024! I stayed in Strasbourg for a few nights and as soon as I arrived from Paris there was tons of action to be seen. It's like taking a French railway time-warp with a load of local passenger trains still using loco haulage, including the last place in the country BB 67400 diesel locos can be seen on TER services, with only three locos remaining allocated to them based here (all three feature in the video and I even ride one)! These were built between 1969 and 1975 and are due for withdrawal soon as more new Alstom Regiolis units are introduced. Strasbourg also still has a station pilot shunting loco, a Y8000 (which are the most common type of shunter in France), which is mostly used to move electric locos and stock from the carriage sidings which are unelectrified. Indeed in the video it can be seen pushing a Sybic and Corail TER200 push-pull set up the hill out of the sidings. I hope you enjoy the video and feel free to comment down below!
