Vinyl Sliding Door Installation Process — here’s how we do it step by step!

Work process:
– Open the interior wall and locate any wiring, plumbing, or HVAC.
– Use a masonry saw / corded cutoff saw with a diamond blade (Husqvarna K3000 Wet).
– Remove the old window and the existing single door.
– Pull interior trim and drywall to expose the studs.
– Remove the window frame and sill, scoring edges cleanly.
– Cut the brick veneer and remove the bricks from top to bottom, cleaning back to the sheathing/WRB.
– Install the sliding door frame: shim level & plumb and fasten per manufacturer specs.
– Install the sliding door panels.
– Lightly foam the gap with low-expansion spray foam.
– Bend and install exterior aluminum capping.
– Caulk from the outside using Dymonic or Dow.
– Finish with interior trim.
