Car Transmission Slipping: Causes And Solutions. In this video tutorial I will show you how to fix slipping car transmission.

A slipping transmission occurs when your car doesn't shift into or slips out of gear, which can be dangerous.

Here are some reasons you have a slipping transmission:
Low transmission fluid levels.
Faulty shift solenoids.
Worn or broken transmission bands.
Faulty clutch and torque converter

In contrast, automatic cars have a torque converter that uses the transmission fluid to transfer power from the engine to the transmission. A faulty torque converter cannot build enough pressure for this process, resulting in a slipping transmission.
Here’s how to fix these issues:
Change the transmission fluid and filter.
 First, park your car on a ramp and use blocks to prevent rolling.
 Place a drain pan under your car’s transmission pan and unthread the rear bolts first to perform a controlled spill. Position your drain pan to collect the fluid.
 After collecting most of the fluid, unthread the remaining bolts and remove the transmission pan. Measure out the collected transmission fluid and note down this amount.
 Remove the old filter and compare it to the new part to ensure they match.
 Install the replacement part.
 Remove the old gasket from the transmission pan and clean the transmission pan using brake cleaner before installing the new gasket.
 Install the transmission pan. First, hand-tighten the bolts, then use a torque wrench to tighten them in a criss-cross pattern.
 Pop the hood and insert a funnel in the transmission fill hole. Add the same amount of transmission fluid that you drained earlier.
 Remove the funnel and insert the dipstick.
 Start your car and get off the ramp.
 Shift through the gears, let the engine run for a few minutes, then check the transmission fluid levels. Top up as required.
 Switch off the engine and check for leaks under the car.

Replace the shift solenoid
 Park your car on a ramp and use blocks to prevent rolling.
 Disconnect your car’s negative battery terminal to prevent electrical mishaps.
 Place a drain pan under the transmission pan, then unthread the bolts holding it in place. Start with the front or rear bolts to control the spill direction of the transmission fluid. Measure out the collected transmission fluid and note down the amount.
 After removing the pan, locate the solenoid and disconnect the clips and harnesses securing it.
 Install the new solenoid and connect the wire harnesses.
 Attach the transmission pan and refill the transmission fluid.
 Connect your battery and check if the issue persists.
