The most common treatments for asthma are inhalers like this, that you inhale like steroids or albuterol, but they don't work for every patient.

So what do you do? There's a newer medication class called biologics, and these are essentially antibodies. They're gonna bind to molecules in your body, and stop the inflammation from ever occurring so you don't need medications like this and you feel better. Some examples of this are, Omalizumab, or Xolair, or Dupilumab, or Dupixent.

In general, these are for patients who aren't getting good responses from inhalers, and they're usually for patients above five or six years old, they work awesome. They're gonna decrease your asthma attacks, they're gonna decrease your medication usage and then generally improve patient's quality of life. And these are new medications, so not everyone knows about them.

Some of the brand names for these medications are medications like Xolair, Dupixent, Nucala, or Cinqair. If you Google these medications, you can learn a little bit more about the biologics, but most importantly, if you think you're having trouble with asthma inhalers and you can't breathe, you may want to talk to your doctor about biologics.
