How the Mark Twain Riverboat at Disneyland Works

Описание к видео How the Mark Twain Riverboat at Disneyland Works

We are back at Disneyland to look at how they operate the Mark Twain Riverboat. In our "Walking With Walt Pt2" we went over the history of the boat, now let's look at the operation.

The Mark Twain Riverboat was built by Joe Fowler in 1955. Like the other rivers of America boat at Disneyland, the Columba sailing ship, the Mark Twain runs on a track. It is floating and is in fact driven by its steam-powered paddlewheel, it is guided by a single rail guideway, which also provides braking. However, the brake is only used as a "parking brake". The paddlewheel provides forward power as well as operational braking.
