SARABANDE (Organ Solo) - G.F. Händel

Roberto Bertero at the organ of Turin’s Santuario della Consolata (Church of the Virgin of the Consolation).

In this video I am playing my organ version of the world famous Händel’s Sarabande.
A composition so well known and appreciated that also the director Stanley Kubrick masterfully used it as the soundtrack of his masterpiece movie “Barry Lyndon”.
Not by chance, in creating this Thumbnail I’ve thought to include a frame from the film Barry Lyndon, as I love when the arts meet and, together, contribute to create something that words would never be able to express.
The Sarabanda is generally a slow dance with solemn character in 3/4 or 3/2 with accent on the second half, with the characteristic of having the second and third time of the bar often tied, in order to produce a particular rhythm of quarter note and half note alternated. The half notes are considered to correspond to the steps dragged during the dance.

Welcome to this YouTube channel aimed at providing some quality online documentation concerning the "Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi" organ located in the Consolata Sanctuary, Turin (Italy).
Audio or audio-video file will be regularly uploaded, all recorded LIVE.
The sound will be captured with Zoom H5 audio recorder (96kHz / 24bit), while footage will be filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.

The intent is to create a database of the musical literature performed by me, titular organist in this prestigious sanctuary, right during the religious services along the Liturgical Year or during the organ auditions, between one Mass and another.
