Описание к видео 7 tips to play Malagueña on piano! Tutorial by pianist Duane Hulbert

Malagueña is exciting, fun, and underrated. This piece may have been inspired by flamenco dances from Málaga in the southeast of Spain.
Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona probably borrowed the theme from American composer Louis Moreau Gottschalk (and his Souvenirs d'Andalousie). Did Gottschalk borrow the tune from a Spanish folk song? Maybe. Music inspires music!
Lecuona wrote Malagueña as the sixth movement of his Suite Andalucía (1933). The piece has been adapted for many instruments and various genres, including jazz and pop.
In this video, Duane Hulbert gives pianists SEVEN tips on how to play Malagueña. Tips include fingerings, pedaling, and dynamics.
